From the grind to Freedom: Building a Thriving At-Home Business

At-home business Q&A

I’m so grateful for my at-home business because it’s allowed me to travel the world, have the freedom to pursue my passions, put my family first, and develop my personal and professional skills!

But the journey wasn't always sunshine and beaches (although there have been plenty of those too!).

Many people ask me, "How did you do it?" Building a successful at-home business requires more than just luck. It takes a commitment to a few key principles:

1. Be Authentic!

There are thousands of impersonators trying to be like someone else or follow what has worked for others, but there’s NO ONE like you!!

The world needs your unique genius, which comes from your personal experiences, passions, struggles, and perspectives!!

The world is waiting for your message, and people need to hear it from you because they won’t hear it from me or anyone else!

Don’t sleep on yourself. You are a gift to this world, and people need to hear your story of struggle, transformation, and the solutions you’ve found!

2. Ask Questions, Listen Deeply:

We can’t serve anyone if we don’t understand them!

Only once you understand someone—their needs, dreams, goals, and gaps can you serve them at the deepest level!

3. Be Bold and Courageous!

Fear of rejection or abandonment is a universal fear! Often, fear holds us back from getting our work out into the world because we’re afraid of being unchosen, we’re worried we’re not good enough, we don’t want to fail, and we can also be afraid of shining too bright!

It’s not your job to choose for anyone! Your job is to provide clarity and help people come to a clear yes or no so people can make the best decision for themselves! Providing clarity is kind, and their decision has nothing to do with your worth or value as a person!

If our fears stop us from taking action, we rob people of learning about life-changing solutions!

If you’re afraid to talk to Betty Sue about your offerings and solutions, Betty Sue could be praying for those solutions like you were. She could have a ripple impact on thousands of lives from the information you shared!

Don’t rob her of that choice! Take yourself out of the equation and put people first.

4. Follow What Lights You Up!

Borrow upon the gifts of everything you’ve learned up to this point!

In this brief life, we’ve lived lifetimes and played many roles!

For example, I’ve been an artist, teacher, basketball player, track🌟, sister, auntie, adventurer, international retreat hostess, lived in Costa Rica and Hawaii, an entrepreneur, a team leader, teen advocate, snowboarder…you get the idea!

As an artist, I learned how to trust myself and my intuition. I learned how to play. My best works of art came from my “mistakes.”

As an athlete, I learned about synchronicity. We became so in tune as a team that I’d throw a blind pass, and my team member would show up to catch it!

As an alignment teacher, I learned how to listen and guide people through their bodies and minds by meeting them where they were.

These experiences have helped me show up for my business by harnessing their gifts!

Bring all of yourself and all of your gifts to the table. Don’t abandon ANY parts of you or your journey! There are lessons in the highs and the lows.

In showing up in your wholeness, you can lead from your wholeness and make the most significant impact!

Building a thriving at-home business takes time, dedication, and courage. But the rewards – freedom, flexibility, and the fulfillment of pursuing your passions – are worth it.
